- 1 minutes read - 133 wordsSo I am trying to get SuSE to PXE boot into a diskless session. In order to do this, first I have to get it to install into a directory. Next we have to do something about the kernel.
The first part is sort of, kind of, solved. Took a while, but it is working. Second is more complex. SuSE doesn’t make it easy to remaster the kernel. Nor does RH (or Fedora, …). Ubuntu/Debian make it a snap. Had to slog through a myriad of options, and change the way some things are being done. Started the build, and going to see how it goes in the early morning. Hopefully we will have a bootable kernel. Once that is done, it should be a simple matter of configuration. Yeah. Thats the ticket.
