- 2 minutes read - 215 wordsDoug has been trying to convince me that he could do a better job with the CMS tools and some cranking out basic design (I like simple …), than I could at hacking code. Have a look here. The JackRabbit site was also folded in The (now former) website we had up was an MVC based application using Catalyst. I used jQuery for the effects … yadda yadda yadda.
This meant I coded it. Which took time away from other things. And this is an issue for me, as I don’t have a great deal of time, to do stuff like code web sites. I asked Doug to show me he could do a better job of it with the CMS. And it was. Much. Better. So I made a simple decision. Use it. As much as I enjoy hacking that code together, as much as it was “my baby”, I could see the logic and economics behind it. So we finished up most of the bits to get the new site done today, and did the cut-over. Still might be a few things missing, but we can fix that. Fast. And that is related to the previous post. You can’t let non-business considerations sway business decisions. This was a business decision, pure and simple.
